Previously, Daylight Saving Time (DST) began on the first Sunday in April and ended on the last Sunday in October. Thanks to the Energy Policy Act of 2005, as of March 2007, DST began on the second Sunday in March and ends on the first Sunday in November.
The device clocks in affected BlackBerry devices will NOT update automatically on November 4 upon the later return to Standard Time. These users could experience data synchronization and calendaring problems at the minimum.
BlackBerry Enterprise Server (BES) administrators were instructed by Research in Motion (RIM) earlier this year to apply specific updates and patches where appropriate to BES servers and BlackBerry user devices. For more on the BlackBerry DST Patch, click here for RIM’s DST page.
